The
Battle of the Imports (BOTI) is the pioneer of sport compact drag racing. With
over 17 years experience, the BOTI has created and developed classes used today
by other organizations. The BOTI offers competitive classes for all levels of
racers. From the weekend warrior to the mid-level sportsman to the all out
professional, chances are there is a class for you.
Presently, there
are 3 championship heads-up classes, 4 heads-up street classes and 3 sportsman
classes which also includes the popular "fun-run" class.
The BOTI offers
racers a chance to win additional money through the racer contingency program.
Participating manufacturers of this program award successful racers that
utilize a particular posted product while displaying their decal. The
contingency program is optional and is not required to compete.
All
racers must purchase a tech card and pass a basic safety inspection. Since the
BOTI is held at both NHRA and IHRA member tracks, host track rules will
prevail. If you run 9.99 or quicker, you will need a NHRA competition license
and a medical certificate. An NHRA competition license (not NHRA membership) is
acceptable at IHRA member tracks but is NOT reciprocated. If you are unsure
whether your competition license will be accepted at a certain venue, please
call our office ahead of time.
The BOTI encourages racers to decide
which class they should compete in ahead of time. If you are unsure which class
is right for you, please feel free to contact our office. Chassis
certifications can also be arranged ahead of time at the owners expense. NHRA
competition license and a medical certificate application forms are available
here.
