Scion Signs as Contingency Sponsor for 2008
The Battle of the Imports announced today that it has confirmed a partnership with automaker Scion (Torrance, CA) for the 2008 event series. Scion recognizes the importance of supporting sport compact drag racing and this is clearly evident with their support of Pro class drivers such as Leslie Durst, Kenny Tran, Christian Rado and Brad Personett.

"We are excited about partnering with the Battle of the Imports in 2008. We have been monitoring the performance aftermarket for awhile and realize the value this series brings to an OEM such as Scion," commented Steve Hatanaka, Scion. "We want Scion owners to know that we (Scion) value their brand loyalty and we feel that this is an excellent opportunity for us to show them."

Scion will be posting contingency on all Scion badged vehicles in all classes offererd in 2008. "We are excited about having Scion on board and that our program is recognized as a tremendous value. By Scions' involvement, it shows the diversity of makes and models participating in our series and opens the door for others to follow," commented Frank Choi, Battle of the Imports.

As of this press release, the total contingency posted for the 2008 Battle of the Imports event series is $482,400 and climbing. For up to date contingency postings, please click the following link: 2008 Contingency Postings.
